On February 10th and 11th, 2023, I participated in two interconnected events in Paris: a networking event at Comptoir Général, and the “Forum des Entrepreneurs de la Diaspora” at Palais des Congrès. This forum, part of the MEET Africa 2 initiative (European Mobilization for Entrepreneurship in Africa), was organized by Expertise France, in collaboration with ANIMA Investment Network and GIZ. The forum’s structure included plenary sessions, roundtables, B2B meetings, and keynotes.
As the CEO of Meducadeus SARL, a Tunisian-labeled startup with our project Meducol having received the label in Tunisia, my primary objective was to connect and network with potential clients and partners across Africa and France, and to effectively showcase our innovative startup. The GIZ, a key partner in the MEET Africa initiative, covered the participation and travel costs for the event. This provided an invaluable opportunity to expand our reach and explore new partnerships in the global market, benefiting from the broader European efforts to support African diaspora entrepreneurship. The event emphasized the role of diasporas in co-construction and highlighted successful initiatives like MEET Africa 2, which aims to strengthen entrepreneurial support and provide seed funding.
